The recipient of this copy, Tom Hayden (1939-2016), was an anti-war and pro-civil rights activist. Hayden led protests at the 1968 Democratic National Convention and stood trial during the "Chicago Seven" case. He was elected to the California State Assembly from 1982-1992, and then the California Senate from 1992-2000.
