Unbound. Zustand: Very Good. Broadside measuring 7.5" x 30". Toning thus very good. A poster from the 1964 Washington D.C. Primary Elections by United Democrats for Johnson promoting their choice for Committeeman and Committeewoman, E. Franklin Jackson and Mrs. Polly Shackleton. The front features the candidates as well as two commissioners, Walter N. Tobriner and John B. Duncan while a sample ballot in included on the verso. John B. Duncan was the first African American commissioner of the District of Columbia serving from 1961 to 1967. He spent the next two years as assistant to the secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior for Urban Relations before retiring in 1969. Polly Shackleton had a storied career in politics as a delegate for the Democratic National Convention, on DC's City Council, and other activist roles. E. Franklin Jackson was an African-American reverend and former chapter of DC's NAACP. By voting this slate the broadside boasts a "landslide victory" for President Johnson.
