Squire. Published in 1927, with the first impression published earlier that year. Contains both the first and second series. In full brown decorative calf. The editor of the London Mercury literary magazine, Squire was an important figure in the literary scene, and this particular anthology contains the works of a variety of contemporary poets he admired, including Rupert Brooke and Siegfried Sassoon. Despite being an important figure, he antagonised many modernist authors such as Virginia Wolf, and his particular collection of authors were dubbed the 'Squirearchy'. In full brown decorative calf.Externally, mostly smart, with a couple of rubbing marks to boards. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities, with a slight lift to calf at head of spine. Cracks to rear joint, including to head of rear joint, and to center. Slight fading to rear joint. Brown end papers are clean. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with minor age toning. Good. book.
