Zustand: Good. 112 p., clean and unmarked within on strong glossy unaged paper; some lettering in upper corner of t.p. marked through with red marker; faint stains near lower portion of t.p. but oddly enough none near any of the recipes, even the most tempting ; many period photos in color and B&W; binding firm; photographic wrapper clean but with light rubbing at edges, crease and scuff at lower corner of front panel, tape on spine. Extremely interesting peek into Depression Era cuisine, but for those who can afford electric refrigerators. Lead article : "The New Art of Preparing Food in Advance," featuring "refrigerator rolls" with dough that can keep for a week when kept cool, molded salads made with gelatin, instructive photos showing how to make ice cubes in refrigerator freezing compartments and remove them from trays. (Hot water recommended for filling trays before putting them in freezer.) Many chilled and frozen desserts; sandwich fillings with mayonnaise. There is promotion of the "Thrift Cooker" 5-quart aluminum kettle with perforated rack that permits cooking multiple dishes on an electric burner in the same container without transfer of flavor.
