[Alan Maxwell Boisragon (22 January 1860 - 18 March 1922) was a British Army officer, and author, and was Captain Superintendent of the Shanghai Municipal Police from 1901 to 1906]. Frank John Williams (1931-2022) was an English actor best known for playing the Reverend Timothy Farthing in the BBC television sitcom Dad's Army (1969-1977). Illustrations by J. F. Campbell.

From the private library and estate of Frank Williams. Ink message dated 1916 to the front free end paper, foxing to the end papers, war-time gilt for the spine mixed with aluminium and consequently has dulled, else in Good condition, no dust wrapper.
