An international group, the contributors hail from India and England as well as from colleges and universities in America. After its beginning under Purvis E. Boyette, major editing was done by John T. Shawcross of City University of New York Graduate School, John M. Steadman of the Huntington Library, and William B. Hunter, Jr., of the University of Houston. All three are known for their research on John Milton and for their editing. Professor Shawcross s editions of the poetry of Milton and Donne are standard, as is Professor Hunter s of Ben Jonson. Professor Steadman is completing the variorum edition of Paradise Lost [.].
