[iv], 273pp. Edith Maud Hull (1880-1947) was a British writer of romance novels, best known for 'The Sheik', which became an international best seller in 1921. 'The Captive of the Sahara' was first published in 1931, and the plot features a relationship against the backdrop of the Sahara Desert. The book is bound in the original blue boards with black titling on the spine. The case of the book is in excellent condition with light rubbing to the spine ends. The contents are tight and clean with light foxing to the free endpapers and a name, address and date (1934) written on the front free endpaper. The unclipped dustwrapper has shelf wear with light soiling and the spine ends are lightly bumped with small nicks. There is a tear of about 1/4" on the top front edge and two 1/4" tears on the bottom front edge that have been repaired on the reverse with document repair tape. …
