As stated in Chapter I, Austen had a particularly close relationship with her family, which unquestionably shaped the domestic settings of her novels. Written by Edith Charlotte Brown and John Henry Hubback, relatives of Jane Austen. Brown would go on to publish three generally well-received novels, inspired by those of her great-great-aunt. In publisher's original cloth binding. With the bookplate of David John Gilson to the front paste down. Six pages of text on Jane Austen tipped in towards the rear of the work. Externally, smart with slight bumping and rubbing, leading to a few small closed tears at the head of the spine, and more noticeable marking to both boards. Internally, reasonably firmly bound with the occasional delicate page from 32 to 33, 64 to 65, 192 to 193, 208 to 209, 272 to 273 and to last few pages. Small chip to page 273. Spotting mostly contained to front and rear of text, leaving remaining pages bright and clean. Very Good. Not Stated (illustrator). book.
