Draft script for the 1963 play. Copy belonging to actress Tresa Hughes, with her annotations throughout. Hughes was nominated for a Tony award for Best Actress for her role in the 1961 production of "The Devil's Advocate" (unrelated). Set in the Boston area between September 1923 to August 1927. "The Advocate" opened on Broadway at the ANTA Playhouse and ran for 8 performances between October 14 and October 19, 1963. Red studio wrappers, with credits for playwright Nash. Title page present, dated August, 1963, with credits for playwright Nash. 112 leaves, mimeograph duplication. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Very Good plus bound with two gold screw brads.

From the archive of film historian and author Joel Finler. Two men vie for ownership of a woman sentenced to fourteen years of indentured servitude in the colony of Virginia. The winner gallantly frees the woman, but the loser tears up her contract of freedom, kidnapping the woman and taking her west for life on the frontier. Shot on location in California, Idaho, Pennsylvania, and New York. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good, with small spots of fading on the center of the image, and darkening on the mimeo snipe on the verso.
