THERE IS A PENNED DEDICATION ON THE FFEP. THERE IS HEAVY FOXING TO SOME PAGES AND LIGHT TO OTHERS. THERE ARE A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF PENNED MARKINGS INSIDE. THE BINDING HAS LOOSENED SLIGHTLY BUT THE PAGES ARE ALL ATTACHED. PAGES GENERALLY APPEAR CLEAN AND CREASE FREE. ALL IN ALL A NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS BOOK.

Zustand: Good. xxv, 315pp, some offsetting and foxing of pages, ink signatures of previous owners to title page and an inner endpaper, marbled brown endpapers, hinges a little weak, full calf with gilt borders, banded and gilt-lettered/decorated spine, joints a little cracked at ends with some loss to top of spine. Charles James Hoare (14 July 1781 - 15 January 1865) was an evangelical Church of England clergyman and archdeacon of Surrey. Hoare was ordained in 1804 as curate to Dr. Thomas Rennell, dean of Winchester and vicar of Alton, Hampshire. In 1807 he was appointed vicar of Blandford Forum, Dorsetshire, where he won numerous friends. He removed to the family living of Godstone, near Reigate, Surrey, in March 1821, which he held for the remainder of his life. In 1829 he became rural dean of South-east Ewell, on 10 Nov. in the same year Archdeacon of Winchester, and on 2 Dec. 1831 a canon residentiary of Winchester Cathedral. Size: 7 x 4.25 Inches.
