Among the latin manuscripts that became, in the middle of the last century,incorporated into the National Library of Poland, there is a group of eleven parchment manuscripts from the 12th to the 14th century which, though coming from the library of Eastern Catholic Cathedral of Przemsl, are not of Polish origin, It can be proved that nine of them belonged to the Cistercian monastery of Rein near Graz, while or another one's prpvenance Alt-St.-Paul i. L. can be suspected. As binding material are preserved in these books leaves from an early carolingian codex of Bavarian origin as well as fragments of ana Italian copy of the rarely handed down Ars Laureshamensis done in the early 11th century. The exploration of these manuscripts provided an opportunity to glance breifly at the foundation of the Przemysl Cathedral Library , and at the same time the study of the scribes encouraged to look for a refreshment of the palaeo-graphical terminology.
