This is the second, preferable edition of Fictuld's annotated bibliography of alchemical writings. The first part first appeared on its own (1740) and the third edition (1784) treat only the adepts. This is "an important source book for the history of alchemy in which alchemical literature is critically surveyed" (Duveen). Hermann Fictuld (1700 - c. 1777) was a pseudonym used by an early Freemason, whose identity has not been definitely determined.
