Includes "Captain Betsy" by Dorita Fairlie Bruce. 6 colour plates. 160 pages. Spine bumped. Covers slightly edge worn. Inscription in ink (partially faded) to front pastedown. Endpapers lightly browned. Foxing and some fingering to page margins. Scarce dustwrapper is grubby and edge worn, tear to top of spine tape repaired on verso, rear panel has large section of loss to top edge and some smaller pieces of loss at other edges. Zustand: Good. NO JACKET. Hard board has bumps, wear, marks, scratches/fading. Tanning/scratches at text blocks. Minor dog earing at some page corner tips. Inscription at 1st page. Slight waving effect to pages. Slight splitting at binding. Text good and clean.

Cream cloth, large pictorial onlay to spine and front board, front board shows boy cooking over an open fire whilst girl is passing sticks for fire. First story is 'The Griffins' by Florence Harrison. Colour frontis shows 'The Brownie Gets His Cream'. Colour & b/w illustrations. Boards clean, worn at corners. Name in ink to front pastedown. A few minor foxspots and light marks to margins. Colour plate "She bore away from the danger" has been neatly trimmed away on bottom margin (about an inch missing) but still bears the title of the plate and has a few small closed tears to vertical edge. Pictorial wrapper has neat inscription in ink to front panel, is edge-worn and has loss at edges. Overall, still a decent copy. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched.
