Original green cloth covered boards with a gilt illustration on the front board, the spine has been re-backed in blue leather with gilt titles and the end papers have been replaced. There is a gentle roll to the spine and the boards are rubbed. The preliminary pages are a little spotty, especially the tissue guard in front of the frontispiece. Thereafter the pages are smooth and clean and abundantly illustrated. A 2-page section of plates between pages 90-91 is detached but present. May incur additional postage charges outside Europe.

Zustand: Good. First edition (hardback), volume 2 (of 2) only. 8vo (23cm by 15cm), xvi, 259pp. Frontispiece, text illustrations. Original blue cloth, gilt titling to the spine, gilt design to the front board. The binding is a little rubbed and bumped, and there is scattered foxing of the contents; overall, this book is in good condition.
