Facsimile reprint of the original 1935 publication. xviii, 400pp, with over 200 illustrations. Quarter bound in pale blue cloth over blue cloth-covered boards, dark blue lettering to spine. Large 8vo. Cloth is a little tired, gently rounded on corners and spine ends, slightly rubbed on joints. Rear panel slightly bowed. Internally neat, clean and tight. In its original worn and chapped dust wrapper, with numerous very short tears from upper edge, slightly toned on verso.

The Voyage of the Racoon is " a published version of an early 19th-century journal detailing the British ship HMS Racoon's journey to the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, California, Hawaii) in 1813-1814, a secret mission to claim American fur trading posts during the War of 1812, featuring historical accounts and Henry Rusk's illustrations of the exotic lands and peoples encountered.
