Light rubbing to front and back cover and some wear to cloth along edges and hinges. Boards exposed just a bit at three of the corners. Stamping is crisp and vibrant. Binding remains secure. Top edge of pages gilt. Fore-edge and bottom edge deckled. Name of previous owner written in center of front free endpaper. Pages are lightly toned from age, with the occasional subtle fingerprint smudge, but otherwise clean and unmarked. Page 17 creased in the bottom corner. Overall this copy is sturdy and well-preserved. Frontispiece features black ink illustration of Lincoln's Inn Hall. Many other black and white illustrations featured throughout.
