Erste Auflage dieses seltenen Bandes dieser Reihe. Dieser Atlas wurde später durch seine englisch- und französische Übersetzung international bekannt. Rudolf Heck…er, als Sohn Carl Hecker's 1868 in München geboren, studierte und promovierte dasselbst 1892 und bildete sich an der Chirurgischen Abteilung des Kranknehauses Hamburg-Eppendorf an der Internen Abteilung des Augusta-Hospitals sowie an der Kinderklinik in Berlin und an der Münchner Kinderklinik aus. 1898 habilitierte er sich in Münhen für Pädiatrie (1910 a.o. Prof.). Joseph Trumpp, (1867-1945), kam 1896 als Assistenzarzt an die bayerische Universitäts-Kinderklinik München. Am 26.2.1898 habilitierte er sich mit "Das Phänomen der Agglutination und seine Beziehungen zur Immunität" und wurde 1910 zum a.o.Professor ernannt. 1898 beantragen Trumpp und Hecker im Verein mit den Ärzten aus Schwabing die Errichtung eines Ambulatoriums für Kinderkrankheiten. Diese Gründung wurde bald in das Schwabinger Krankenhaus übernommen. 1900 erschien sein damals bekanntes Buch über "Säuglingspflege"und 1910 über "Kinderpflege". Er hat sich mit Prof. Hecker sehr um die Versorgung der Säuglinge in München verdient gemacht u.a. durch Gründung des "Kinderspitalvereins München-Nord" 1898. Ab 1.12.1913 wurde er ärztlicher Leiter der "Königlichen Orthopädischen Klinik für krüppelhafte Kinder" (bis ca. 1920). Ab Ende des Sommersemesters 1937 wurde er von seinen Vorlesungsverpflichtungen entbunden.
