Vol 1 has split to side , ffep missing, htp and frontis loose. Vol 3: Top half of spine torn but all present. Vol 4 has tear 2/3 down side of spine. Book.

In dark maroon morocco fine leather bindings; with gilt line and blind embossed decorative edging to boards, gilt crests to front and rear boards, raised bands with gilt decorations to spines, gilt lettering and embossed decoration. All page edges gilt, with gilt inner dentelles to boards and decorative endpapers. In very good condition. Some rubbing to edges and ends of spines, corners slightly bumped. Some rubbing marks to spines and one minor rubbing mark to front of vol.2, else boards all clean and smart. Bookplates to endpapers ?Joseph Ridgway, Ridgmont.? Some darkening to edges of plates, some minor foxing to edges and title pages underneath. With tissue guards. One or two minor handling marks to pages, with some areas of minor to a couple of odd pages.
