Includes articles such as "What This Race Really Needs is a Good Magazine," "Lincoln and Douglass," "On Reading Negro Books," and a critical piece on Lincoln titled, "Martyred President was Not an Abolitionist." Considered "The Father of Harlem Radicalism," the author had worked as an editor for New Negro magazine and Marcus Garvey's newspaper, Negro World.
