Das Buch beschäftigt sich mit den Problemen der Metaphernübersetzung aus dem Deutschen ins Arabische. Am Beispiel von drei arabischen Übersetzungen des Romans Die Blechtrommel von Günter Grass geht die Arbeit vor allem auf die Übersetzungsprobleme der kulturspezifischen und kreativen Metaphern ein. Ziel dieser Studie ist es, anhand des Äquivalenzbegriffes konkrete Daten translatorischen Handelns für die Metaphernübersetzung aus der Praxis zu gewinnen, und durch die Untersuchung dieser Daten Lösungsansätze für die beschriebene Problemstellung zu schaffen.
