Large octavo, xii, 203, [2] (index) pages with numerous illustrations (including 12 in colour) and 4 maps; the last page of the index is printed on the recto of the rear free endpaper. Colour-pictorial papered boards a trifle bumped at the extremities; spine lightly sunned; an excellent copy. Tom McCourt died in January 1981. Hans Mincham edited the 'mass of historical material concerning the Coorong region which he [McCourt] had known intimately throughout his life' (from the four-page obituary at the beginning of the book). Hans Mincham has signed this copy twice (in ink on the title page, and in pencil on the front free endpaper). The few small pencil marks in the obituary appear to be in his hand, and this may have been his personal copy. Not least, there is a chapter on 'Foods and Some Customs of the Coorong Aborigines' (13 pages with 12 botanical illustrations in colour).
