Cloth. Zustand: Very Good. Walter Hale (illustrator). First edition. A scarce first edition of this study of Robert Louis Stevenson. Written by American drama critic Clayton Hamilton, with illustrations throughout by Walter Hale, the book traces Stevenson's origins in Scotland through to his later life in France and America. In cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally quite smart, there is some marking to the boards, backstrip and rubbing to the extremities. Internally, the pages are firmly bound, although somewhat chipped, and are bright and clean throughout, aside from the odd spot. Very Good. book.
