Od 1903 do 1908 w rosyjskiej marynarce wojennej, krotko pracowal jako adwokat i ponownie wstapil do marynarki. Pilot od 1910 po szkoleniu we Francji, potem zajmowal sie glownie kwestiami wojskowego morskiego lotnictwa w armii rosyjskiej. W 1916 zostal mianowany zastepca attaché morskiego, do spraw lotniczych, przy ambasadzie Rosji w Waszyngtonie, w USA przebywal do 1919 po czym wrocil do Polski, gdzie jako major byl zatrudniony w Departamencie dla Spraw Morskim Ministerstwa Spraw Wojskowych, od 1921 komandor. Po przejsciu tego roku do rezerwy wyjechal do USA, gdzie prowadzil interesy handlowe, po powrocie do kraju urzednik ministerialny, potem zastepca dyrektora Morskiego Instytutu Rybackiego. Od mlodosci podejmowal liczne podroze (niekiedy awanturnicze), takze juz wtedy zaczal publikowac zarowno dziela literackie, jak i fachowe z zakresu lotnictwa i tematyki morskiej, ceniony i jeden z pierwszych polskich lotnik (m.in. w 1910 ustanowil jeden z lotniczych rekordow swiata) i specjalista spraw morskich; zob. By pointing out the main challenges the movement faced, the author discusses the ways it tried to overcome these. The main argument is that the post-communist legacy (expressed in low levels of mobilization, in rejection of leftist ideals and discourse and in deep mistrust towards political life) had a tremendous impact on the formation and the shape of the alterglobalist movement in the region. 210 pp. Englisch.
