The critical text, the result of an attempt to rationalize on all the data provided by the rich m…anuscript tradition, is followed by an Italian translation and a commentary designed to clarify any textual obscurities and the role played by Uc Brunenc in the poetic panorama of the age. The volume opens with an Introduction analyzing the sparse autobiographical jottings left by the poet and the principal metrical and textual features of his work. It closes with an index verborum and a rhyme list.; Con questa edizione del trovatore Uc Brunenc, originario di Rodez e attivo verso la fine del XII secolo, viene proposto un nuovo testo critico delle sei canzoni che di lui ci sono rimaste: indispensabile messa a punto dell'ottima, ma ormai superata, edizione del grande filologo tedesco Carl Appel (1895). Il corpus poetico di Uc Brunenc è trasmesso da tutti i principali canzonieri della lirica trobadorica, e questo testimonia, nonostante l'oblio che ha coperto il trovatore per tutto il XX secolo, il grado di apprezzamento di cui il poeta godeva ai tempi suoi. In effetti, pur non mostrando particolari doti innovative e creative sul piano metrico-melodico e tematico, Uc Brunenc mostra, però, una certa originalità nella scelta delle immagini con le quali riveste le tematiche piuttosto consuete (amorose o blandamente moraleggianti) che costituiscono il nucleo dei suoi componimenti. Nell introduzione si analizzano le scarse notizie biografiche del trovatore di Rodez, nonché i principali aspetti metrici e testuali della sua opera poetica. Il testo critico dei componimenti è il frutto dell'analisi completa di tutta la ricca tradizione manoscritta, che porta a un sforzo di razionalizzazione dei dati con l'ausilio delle più recenti indagini nel campo dell'ecdotica: testimonianza di questo lavor o sono i 'cappelli' introduttivi che precedono ciascuna lirica. Il commento, essenziale ma esaustivo, ha un duplice scopo: da una parte di tentare una spiegazione delle eventuali questioni testuali aperte, dall'altra di verificare la possibilità di inserire Uc Brunenc nel panorama dei trovatori suoi contemporanei, alcuni dei quali di prima grandezza.
