Volumul de fata ofera o analiza aprofundata a acestui dosar si a altora corelate, in care sursele fie o spionau pe Herta Muller, fie ii erau prieteni, asadar supuse automat supravegherii. Aria acoperita de autoare este vasta: de la felul in care textele de inceput ale Hertei Muller au atras atentia Securitatii pana la examinarea comparativa a diferentelor dintre editiile romanesti si cele vest-germane ale povestirilor din Niederungen, de la povestile de dosar ale celor care au spionat-o pana la rolul traducerii ori al traducerii gresite in transcrierile Securitatii si multe altele. Desecretizate la mai bine de doua decenii dupa 1989, aceste dosare pun in lumina fatete necunoscute ale temutei institutii comuniste pe care Valentina Glajar le recupereaza, oferindu-i cititorului o forma de rescriere a vietii intr-un mod reparator.
