Johann Jacob Wecker (1528-86) was a physician at Basle. It derives from the work attributed to Alessio Piemontese (pseudon of Girolamo Ruscelli) , the first edition of which entitled De' secreti del reverendo donno Alessio Piemontese sei libri was printed in Venice in 1555. Wecker translated it into Latin and published, with additions, in Basel in 1559 and Lyon 1561. Occult sciences (magic, alchemy, astrology, divination, Kabbalah) , demonology and angelology, witchcraft, sorcery and necromancy, spirits, ghosts and apparitions; talismans and magical seals.
