Libro messo all'Indice, pubblicato in Svizzera dal grande divulgatore della filosofia tedesca, la cui introduzione tradisce l'intenzione di combattere il Cattolicesimo italiano. Contiene: 1) le Lezioni sul Cristianesimo di Wilhelm De Wette (1780-1849), un seguace della «filosofia del sentimento» dello Jacobi, che per questo era stato osteggiato dai pietisti nelle università tedesche ed era passato all'Università di Basilea, dove si era trovato alle prese con i razionalisti; 2) la Filosofia della Rivelazione di Bernhard H. Blasche (1766 - 1832), un seguace dell'idealismo di Schelling, che presenta la rivelazione come un fatto progressivo che svela dapprima il sapere morale, poi quello religioso ed infine quello filosofico.
