Published by WM. S. Orr and Co. in 1850. First published in 1789.In the publisher's original cloth, with a frontispiece of the environs of Selbourne engraved by L. Dower and numerous in-text illustrations. The copy was given as aContaining White's original letters and descriptions of the wildlife of Selbourne, Blyth echoes the same wonder and fascination with nature that White exhibits, believing it a duty of the individual. Adding his own additional observations on British natural history, with an intriguing account of the present day Selbourne by Robert Mudie, this book is a celebration of natural observation.
