A fascinating compendium of the views of American "classical music" composers, spanning ca. 200 years musical creativity. CONTENTS: For the composer contributor names, please see my accompanying scan images of the Table of Contents. 318 pages. CONDITION: A quite respectable, generally Very Good Minus EX-LIBRARY copy. The book itself is securely bound, with moderate edge- and corner-wear to its covers. The interior pages are uncreased and unmarked (but for library stamps on the page-block top and bottom). The endpapers show evidence of the removal of the previously pasted-down dust-jacket flaps. Its dust jacket - now in a clear mylar (removable) protective cover - is complete (not price-clipped) but showing considerable wear. This nevertheless quite viable copy remains an excellent reference for American music research, presented in the words of the composers themselves.
