The book also revises our conventional understanding of the source of the different Mesozoic to Cenozoic sections exhumed in the orogenic wedge, with the objective of discussing basin mechanisms through time. A final chapter discusses probable orogenic controls that have acted together in order to explain structure, the different deformational stages and intra-orogenic extensional collapses that affected the fold and thrust belt over time.

Primera edición. 12mo. Sello… de anterior propietario en hoja de cortesía. Papel impecable sin manchas, ni subrayados. Lomo con letras doradas. La pluma del uruguayo Quiroga que ha cruzado todas las fronteras por su agudeza. Horacio Silvestre Quiroga nació el 31 de diciembre de 1878 en Salto, Uruguay. Era hijo del vicecónsul argentino en Salto y de la oriental Pastora Forteza. Por parte de su padre descendía del caudillo riojano Facundo Quiroga. En 1897 hizo sus primeras colaboraciones en las revistas literarias de Salto. En 1899 editó su propia revista, se llamó Revista de Literatura y Ciencias Sociales, publicó 20 números y duró 6 meses. En 1902 se mudó a Buenos Aires, Y un año después hizo su primera incursión a la selva, acompañando como fotógrafo a Leopoldo Lugones en una expedición a las ruinas jesuíticas de Misiones. En 1906 compró unas tierras en San Ignacio, en la provincia de Misiones (Argentina), para construir una casa en la selva, en donde se instalaría dos años después con su esposa. Allí vivió muchos años, y la selva fue el escenario de sus cuentos. En 1937, en Buenos Aires, tomó la decisión de suicidarse al enterarse que estaba gravemente enfermo. s.4.3.BUSQ.
