Paperback. Zustand: Very Good. First printing. 16 pp., 8vo; stapled into printed wrappers. Poems translated by Aijaz Ahmad, in collaboration with Rich and Stafford, with a forenote by Ahmad. The poems were taken from a volume of translations then in preparation (and published in 1971 by Columbia University Press), "commissioned by the Asian Literature Program of the Asia Society as part of its observance of The Ghalib Centennial." A complimentary copy, bearing the Asia Society bookplate to that effect, and with three additional printed pieces laid in: a half-page promotional sheet on Asia Society letterhead, introducing the project; a two-page stapled order form from the Hudson Review, featuring quotations from Adrienne Rich and Aijaz Ahmad, describing the publication, and giving additional information regarding the Ghalib Centennial Year (folded once); and the program from a Ghalib Centennial Tribute reading by Adrienne Rich and Aijaz Ahmad at Sarah Lawrence College on December 11, 1969 (a single sheet, printed both sides, folded once to make four pages). Other than the intentional folds, the three additional pieces are in fine condition; the pamphlet has a one-inch tear along the crown of the spine, with some soiling and rumpling of edges.
