Dans ce conte philosophique, l'auteur, imagine l'existence d'une île inconnu situé sur les côtes méditerranéenne, où tous les juristes se retrouvent après leur mort dans un gouvernement basé sur la République romaine et divisé en trois ordres : Les Sénateurs, Les Chevaliers et les Plébéiens. L'auteur, s'étant lui-même retrouvé sur l'île, contaste, que ce système perpétue même après la mort les discussions stériles sur des points de jurisprudence, ainsi que des querelles de chapelles et des ragots de couloir. Infimes frottis et tassements aux coins. Intérieur très frais malgré une très légère auréole le haut des dernières pages.Rarissime édition originale.
