Victor Galippe's work on the Habsburg family has become a classic, particularly with regard to hereditary maxillofacial malformations (prognathism, exorbitis, etc.) Marie Louis Victor Galippe (1848 -1922) was a French microbiologist and physician. - - Endre Makai (1884-1972), Hungarian professor of surgery. In 1930 he was on the staff of Brooklyn Hospital, New York. He was elected a member of the German Society for Surgery (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Chirurgie). He was elected president of the Hungarian Society of Surgeons. His main research interests were the treatment of acute peritonitis and problems of nerve sutures. He was the first to recommend the removal of sympathetic nerve fibres in cases of frostbite. He was the first to describe the pathology of lipogranulomatosis subcutanea, which is named after him.
