A remarkable collection of sacred Toccatas, Canzonas, Ricercares, and choral/sacred works, with an essay about Frescobaldi (in Italian and English) by Maurice Aliamet-Guilmant and an essay about Fiori Musicali (in French and English) by Joseph Bonnet. Also included are introductory remarks of Frescobaldi himself, written for the original 1635 publication. xxxii + 101 pages. CONDITION: A SIGNIFICANTLY WORN COPY, missing its outer covers - otherwise complete and unmarked - mostly unbound, with substantial shelf-wear, insect-hole intrusions in the margins of several pages, and with age-tanned, somewhat brittle pages (typical of French music score of this vintage. As a *reference copy*, this score can be quite useful, especially to compare with later editions. [NOTE: No text material or music notation has been compromised by these limitations.] With all scores of this age and condition, I strongly recommend - for closer study and performance - that the relevant pages be photocopied. This tattered treasure is now in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board.
