Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Red cloth, gilt lettering, pp.73. Signed and dated presentation copy from Freeston to a Mr Arthur Wilson, inscribed in blue ink on front endpaper. This was the poets last publication of five books of poetry, the others appearing from 1950 to 1955. He was known as the Lancashire dialect poet, and 12 of his dialect poems are found in this volume. He died in 1978 after a lifetime working in the cotton mills and weaving trades, and writing poetry as an escape from this. Covers very slightly bowed else a very crisp, bright copy. Near fine.
