Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: Near Fine. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Very Good. 1st Edition. 8vo., 348pp, Sharp First Edition. First Printing, of this scarce early anthology of creepy stories by the likes of Conrad Richter, Miss Belloc Lowndes and other less well-known authors. Bound in black cloth with lettering stamped in orange on front board and spine. Square, tight and clean throughout with just a touch of off-setting to front end-paper and the bookplate of noted Portland, ME collector, Philip Greely Browne. Minor wear to spine ends and tips. Spine lettering just a touch dulled. Very well-preserved. Very attractive clipped dust-jacket, ($1.50 in the middle of the front flap), has a small chip to the top rear edge and some chipping to the crown. A few small edge-tears and surface rubbing. Spine toning. Still solid, quite presentable and scarce in any condition. A very pretty collectable copy.
