Brilliant for tourists and local interest. Two charming early twentieth century local guides for the iconic city of London. London: A Guide to the Public Buildings, Parks, Gardens and Riverside, published in 1924 by London's Underground and Odhams Press. Nooks and Corners in Old London, a series of Short Rambles of Old London, written by Frank Green, edited and revised by W.H. Watts, published in 1935 by Printing-Craft. Both revised second editions. In the publisher's original pictorial paperback covers. Nooks contains numerous in-text illustrations and six plates, while London: A Guide contains a frontispiece, four other photographs, nineteen maps and a series of street drawings. Nooks also contains a small pocket with a contemporary transport map inside. Collated complete. In Nooks and Old Corners, Green uses his encyclopaedic knowledge to take the reader down the hidden gems of the city, including little-known streets and landmarks, and engages us with little facts and details that remind us why London is such an iconic city.London: A Guide is a brilliant small guide for tourists, taking the reader around the great landmarks of London, including Hampton Court Palace and Trafalgar Square. Also suggests itineraries that are perfect for the individual sightseer. In the publisher's original paperback covers. Externally, mostly smart with fading and the small odd mark to covers.
