Hardcover. Zustand: Good. (Photographs by) Fred Fehl (illustrator). See photos for condition details: hardcover, green cloth boards show spotting and soiling along with edge and corner bumps/wear. Spine is mildly faded and the worst of the spotting appear to be along the top edge. The internal binding is good, no hinge cracks. Both and pages and pastedowns show toning and browning, particularly in the gutter areas. The only evidence of handwriting found in the book is in the upper corner of the front end page, where there is residue from where a price was once penciled and then later erased.

Original photographs. Zustand: vg+ to near fine. Each measuring 5x7" and protected by modern mylar, these are two original b/w photographs from the original 1949 stage production of Arthur Miller's Death of A Salesman, at the Morosco Theatre. These images were taken by taken by pioneering theatrical photographer Fred Fehl, and bare his ink stamp on the back of the photos. The images depict two scenes. In the first (labeled #23 in pencil on the back), Willy Loman (Lee J. Cobb), Biff (Arthur Kennedy) and Happy (Cameron Mitchell) interact with Uncle Ben (Thomas Chalmers). In the second (labeled #219), Willy talks with his neighbor Charley (Howard Smith). This acclaimed first production of one of the 20th century's greatest plays, was produced by Kermit Bloomgarden and Walter Fried, and directed by Elia Kazan, who all went on to win Tony Awards. The play also won the Pulitzer prize. Photographs with minor rubbing and/or creasing to corners, not affecting the images, and in very good+ to near fine condition overall. *Fred Fehl (1906 1995) was an Austrian-American photographer. In a career spanning more than 40 years, he took photographs of more than 1,000 plays, as well as other dance, opera, and music performances, and is considered the first American photographer to make a career specifically in performance photography. He was the permanent photographer of the American Ballet Theatre, the New York City Opera, and the New York City Ballet.
