Francill, "America's Radio Wizard," who traveled the country in the 1920s and 1930s giving exhibitions of his radio control technology on cars, trains, boats, and various industrial machinery. The front and rear wraps features verbiage for an upcoming exhibition by Francill along with an advertisement for a New London, Connecticut Ford dealer, while the inside contains a message to spectators describing how important the selection of the perfect vehicle is to his performance and how that vehicle can only be a Ford. An interesting example of automotive cooperative advertising and early leading edge technology used as entertainment.

A broadsheet sponsored by a local Ford dealer touting a performance by Maurice J. Francill, "America's Radio Wizard," who traveled the country in the 1920s and 1930s giving exhibitions of his radio control technology on cars, trains, boats, and various industrial machinery. It reads: "See the lights flash, horn sounded, motor started and cards guide without drivers, entirely by radio." Born outside of Marion, Ohio, in 1896, Francill studied science as a teenage and later became an electrician as the age of radio technology blossomed. During the Depression he took his knowledge and developed this traveling exhibition displaying the wonders of radio control to the masses in fair grounds, exhibition halls, and theaters around the country eventually being featured in advertisements for Philico radios. An wonderful example of early leading edge technology used as entertainment and Depression-era entrepreneurial spirit.
