Soft cover. Zustand: Fine. 1st Edition. Softcover with French folds,128p, chiefly colour illustrations, 24 cm. Fine. Text in English and Spanish. This book is published with an exhibition of more than 50 photographs by Danielle van Zadelhoff at CAC Málaga, the Dutch artist's first show in Spain. The themes of her photographic works denote an intentional existentialism, reflected in her painterly use of chiaroscuro to convey the textures of each subject's skin and gaze. At once simple and deeply complex, surprising and intensely stark, Van Zadelhoff's portraits convey her fascination with the human psyche, using models to interpret innate questions of temptation, vulnerability, doubt, and faith as a pretext for self-exploration. It shows how the role and situation of women in today's society is one of her main interests.

Buch Erstausgabe
Hardcover. Zustand: As New. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: As New. 1st Edition. Hardcover with dust jacket, 82 p. : ill. (chiefly col.) ; 28 cm. Catalog of an exhibition at the CAC Málaga, Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga, 29 January-1 May 2016. Fine/as new, clean and unmarked copy of this scarce catalog. Text in English and Spanish. From February until May 2016 the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo of Málaga presented a survey of Erwin Olaf s work from the last decade. In Cell of Emotions, the exhibition curated by Fernando Francés, visitors were be able to admire more than sixty pieces that document the Dutch artist s output since 2005. Though known as one of the leading exponents of contemporary photography, he has also produced videos and installations. Olaf, who has shot several major advertising campaigns for well-known brands, uses a combination of photojournalism and studio photography to recreate situations that question the spectator s feelings, characterised by a meticulous mise-en-scène where reality mingles with fiction and a back-to-basics philosophy that dictates a sparing use of photo touch-ups. Unbridled consumerism and social isolation are among the recurring themes in his oeuvre.

Hardcover. Zustand: Sehr gut. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Clothbound, 9 x 11.5 in. / 144 pgs / 30 color. - The works by Gerhard Richter that Georg and Ingrid Böckmann collected in Berlin between 1960 and 2003 span all of the artist's important genres: portraits, landscapes, still lifes, geometric color charts, abstract compositions. Thus the collection, comprehensively illustrated in this publication, provides a welcome survey of the central aspects of the artist's production. Statements and interviews from Richter's diaries exemplify his position as a painter who has repeatedly undertaken new approaches and found new formulations. Despite the ever-increasing dominance of photography and new media in art making, Richter has always foreseen a future for painting. For him, it is the lust to paint that is proof of painting's necessity.
