Avisé et instruit comme il l?était, il ne pouvait pas ignorer que les massacres les avaient vidés. Je n?ai pas cherché à comprendre, sur le moment. Les questions sont venues plus tard, bien plus tard. Je n?avais qu?une idée en tête : qu?est-ce qu?il attend au juste de moi, puisque, chaque soir, c?est Putli qu?il appelle ? Jeudi soir, allez savoir pourquoi, j?avais envie de lire une nouvelle. Pas forcément érotique d?ailleurs, mais bon, pour le coup, c?est à peu près tout ce que j?avais en stock, et je me suis donc plongée sous la couette (je n?aurais jamais pensé écrire un truc comme ça mi-juillet) avec ce texte bien étrange? C?est là que « la sangsue » tient non pas une maison de plaisir, mais une sorte de marché aux esclaves sexuelles. Si les affaires étaient autrefois florissantes, il ne passe plus personne et la sangsue n?a plus que deux filles : la narratrice, une orpheline à la peau claire, qui ne s?aime pas, et Putli. Un jour survient Aziz, un homme riche. Il achète les deux femmes pour le prix d?une et de quelques allers-retours entre les cuisses de la maquignonne? Je dois avouer que ce texte m?a laissée un peu perplexe. Très poétique et symbolique, il est construit sur l?attente. L?attente de la narratrice qu?Aziz la prenne. Le mystère du lien entre ces deux personnages, et surtout le mystère d?Aziz, un homme brisé et hanté par la mort, qui s?est jeté à corps perdu dans le plaisir, parce que dans le plaisir il y a toujours le goût du sang, et son plaisir à lui est du coup bien triste et mortiphère, comme le suggère le collier de billes de cèdre qu?il porte attaché autour de la taille et qui marque de son empreinte les femmes qu?il prend. Mais, pour autant, ce moment, celui où il estime la narratrice prête à subir ses assauts, qui aurait dû constituer le climax de la nouvelle, est évacué, passé sous silence : « De ce moment-là, je ne dirai rien ». Du coup, c?est dommage. Il s?agit d?un très beau texte, mais qui selon moi loupe un peu sa catégorie, « érotisme » ! In französischer Sprache. 40 pages.
