Very good/ good+ A pleasing copy of this interwar girls boarding school mystery, scarce in the original dust jacket. "Where was Carola? Jean had an immense affection for this gay, delightful girl from Eurotania; but Carola failed to return to school after the holidays." Including chapters titled: 'A Queer Encounter' and 'The Queer-looking Beast'. Margaret Horder (19031978) was an Australian artist and children's book illustrator, who was employed as an illustrator for OUP in the 1930s and 1940s.
