It is well that you did not go to work for Minnegowa, because by this time you would probably be feeding on rice and pulling a jinriksha about the streets of Tokyo. You would then probably have cheered when Doolittle flew over, and be bayoneted promptly." Excellent condition. Some discoloration throughout the body of the letter due to the previous enclosure of a newspaper article. Good condition. Priced accordingly. Accompanied by 12 pages from the January 1947 issue of "Radio-Craft." American inventor, self-described "Father of Radio," and pioneer in the development of sound-on-film recording used in motion pictures.

Club - of Starke, Fla and Marius Risley - Lee De Forest" - additionally signed on the reverse "Lee De Forest - 8190 Hollywood Blvd. - Los Angeles Cal., with scattered creasing and a short tear (0,3 inch) to the left edge - in fine to good condition.

In this polite typed letter signed, de Forest writes in part: ".It is naturally gratifying to receive birthday wishes such as yours from those who believe that one has accomplished worthwhile work in the world." Written on an 11" x 8 1/2" sheet of "American Television Laboratory Ltd." imprinted stationery.  Lee de Forest (1873-1961) held over three hundred patents and is known as an early pioneer in radio technology and influential in developing sound-on-film recording used for motion pictures. Condition: Mounting residue on verso with slight bleed-through to recto, mailing fold lines, otherwise good condition with a bold signature. Signed by Author(s).
