Die beiden bedeutungsvollsten waren das 'Judentum' und der 'Bolschewismus'. Sie wurden von der nationalsozialistischen Propaganda als existentielle Bedrohung für Deutschland stilisiert, gegen die das Volk sich wehren müsse. Um diese Gefahr präsent zu halten, schürte die staatliche Propaganda weitestgehend beständig die Angst vor und den Hass gegen diese Feindbilder. Zur Verbreitung bediente sich das Regime insbesondere der 'Deutschen Wochenschau'. Das Medium Film war eines der bevorzugten Agitationsmittel des Propagandaministers Goebbels. Auch Adolf Hitler war ein großer Filmfan und übernahm vielfach selbst die Endabnahme der Wochenschau. Das Feindbild 'Bolschewismus' hat im Verlauf der nationalsozialistischen Diktatur gleich einen zweifachen Wechsel erfahren: Vom ideologischen Feind zum verbündeten Staat und wieder zurück.
