Comprising of twenty-eight plates total, these illustrations have been reprinted from the Sunday Times. The first edition of the first series. A second series was issued in 1925. Loosely inserted is an excerpt from the Sunday Times in February 1925 with a pen and ink illustration by Hanslip of 'North Street'. With an introduction by Frank Rutter. Rutter was the art critic for 'The Sunday Times' for the majority of his working career. Unpaginated. Collated, complete. The original paper wraps are bound in and are in a very clean condition. Hanslip Fletcher was an important artist during the twentieth century. He produced numerous sketches of London and other British towns and cities. Rebound, in a quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, in an excellent condition with very little shelfwear. Gift inscription to the front pastedown dated 1934. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with scattered spotting, mostly to the first and last few leaves. Very Good Indeed. book.
