The wood engravings were printed from the wood, and the line blocks were made by Keene Engraving. The contents are able to make one gasp with pleasure. They are hand-pressed, the illustrations and other devices are tipped-in. The pages are gorgeous, creamy, thick, luxuriant in their elegance, very clean and very - as if brand new throughout. Original vintage London Transport poster for Ham House by the British artist Robert Flavell Micklewright (1923-2013) featuring the historical 17th century Stuart house located by the River Thames with a manicured grass lawn and flowers in the foreground, the London Underground roundel logo and text below - Ham House near Richmond was built in 1610. Later the home of the Duke of Lauderdale, even amid the Restoration's luxury and prodigality it was one of the most lavish and talked-of houses in the country. It is today much as it was then, magnificently furnished and surrounded by glorious gardens and velvet lawns. Details of when you can visit Ham are in the free Town and Country Houses booklet.
