In den WarenkorbPaperback. Zustand: Very Good. Mason, Paul; Field, Helen (illustrator). Nearly 3000 separate entries in alphabetical order, ranging from the South African fairies Abtawa to the German dwarves Zwerge, make this book ten times as comprehensive as any other dictionary or encyclopedia of fairy names available. Unlike, say, British Goblins (Wirt Skie) and Fairies in Lore & Literature (Katherine Briggs) this book is fully international and covers all mythologies and folklore of the worlds cultural groups. The wealth of illustration adds to its justifiable claims of being The book on the subject. A full bibliographical section also aids the reader to search and discover more on selected areas of interest within the subject. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.

[NONE] 1938. (Mass market paperback) Very good. NP. 8vo. Pale blue-green card wrappers, lightly sunned, with light wear and some markings. Interesting collection of mild scatology that includes a letter written by Dr. Franklin to the Royal Academy of Brussels related to wind (farts); Little Willie by Eugene Field describes a young lad prone to wetting his bed, and there is a commentary offered from James Whitcomb Riley about defecation (poop). The additional 'curious' items are reprints of letters sent between various people, most of whom lived in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. An opportunity for intellectuals, bibliophiles, and well, anyone, to explore pages they might otherwise not seen. Internally clean and bright.
