V. im Hochbunker Friedberger Anlage in Frankfurt gewährt uns Einblicke in eine bis heute unbekannte Lebenswelt. Die Erinnerungen der Zeitzeugen sind voller Wehmut angesichts der Leiden und Trauer ihrer Angehörigen, gleichzeitig voller Dankbarkeit für deren Liebe und Fürsorge und die weitergegebene Überzeugung, »trotzdem Ja zum Leben (zu) sagen«. Viele der Kinder von Föhrenwald bilden bis heute eine eng verbundene Gemeinschaft und wissen trotz der Last der Geschichte, ernst und fröhlich zugleich ihre Erinnerungen und Erkenntnisse weiterzugeben.Nachdem 1951 die administrative Zuständigkeit für das DP-Lager Föhrenwald gewechselt hatte, erlangte mit Theodor Oberländer als Staatssekretär für Flüchtlingsfragen ein Nazi der ersten Stunde und im Krieg in antisemitische Mordaktionen involvierter Täter die politische Oberhoheit über das jüdische DP-Lager. Seine Laufbahn in der jungen Bundesrepublik steht exemplarisch für zahllose Nachkriegskarrieren gerade im Beamten- und Justizapparat. Auch mit Unterstützung antisemitischer Kreise erwirkte er schließlich die Räumung des DP-Lagers zugunsten des katholischen Siedlungswerks, das die Häuser Heimatvertriebenen aus dem Sudetenland zuerkannte. Die Ausstellung zeigt, dass die neu gekommenen jüdischen Einwohner\*innen in der Waldschmidtstraße nicht zurückgekehrte Frankfurter, sondern Überlebende aus dem Osten Europas waren. Sie wurden nach etlichen Jahren vor allem im DP-Lager Föhrenwald, dem größten in der amerikanischen Besatzungszone, 1956/57 von bayerischen Behörden Frankfurt zugewiesen. Keiner von ihnen hatte ursprünglich im Land der Täter bleiben wollen; aus gesundheitlichen, finanziellen oder beruflichen Gründen war aber eine Auswanderung nicht möglich gewesen.…
