Contains frontispiece and additional monochrome painting tipped-in, red and black printed title with border decoration, 250 pp. From the private library of Rev. Harry Escott with his name plate to the front free end paper and his Glasgow address business card loosely enclosed. Light soling to the covers and in Very Good condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. Zustand: Fine. First edition hard back binding in publisher's original coarsely woven oatmeal cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine and to the upper panel. 4to 11½'' x 8½''. Contains 38 printed pages of Polish and English text followed by 118 full-page colour plates and index. He studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts in 1926-1929 and since 1929 he continued his studies in Paris with Joseph Pankiewicza. He was a member of the group Crowns. In 1937, along with Joseph Jarema founded a school of painting them. Alexander Gierymski in Katowice. Appointed in 1948, professor of the Academy of Fine Arts, four served as rector of the university (1954-1967). He painted landscapes, still life's, portraits and figural compositions. These bands were worthy forerunners of RSPCA, she was an active supporter of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Coventry.
