No Jacket. 1st ed. x+240, top edge dark tinted; a 'University of Pennsylvania Libraries S.W.Fernberger Collection of Psychology' to front pastedown with fairlky faint blue crayon signature across it, a pencilled bibliographic reference top front endpaper, a very faint Greek 'psi' to lower spine, lib.stamps to fore-edge and lower edge of textblock, no other library marks, intermittent, occ. frequent, pencil underlining & marginal lines throughout, easily eraseable but rather tiresome; covers very good being clean and unworn, spine letter mentioned before is quite inoffensive. Very scarce overview of the topic with coverage of a number of fairly obscure 18th and early 19th century figures such as the American Samuel Johnson, Thomas Clap, J.D.Gros, Asa Mahan and Schmucker. Without pencilling would have rated VG despite the lib. provenance (which is itself a little curious).
